The History

2014 marks the 50th anniversary of the first center of Opus Dei in California. In 1986, Menlough Study Center opened a short distance from Stanford University and since then St. Josemaría’s message of holiness in ordinary life has taken root in the hearts and minds of thousands of people in Silicon Valley and beyond.

Today, attendance at monthly recollections fills the Menlough oratory beyond capacity, our priests' schedules are fully booked with sacramental and pastoral work, and our activities with university and high school students continue to grow, keeping our residents busier than ever. To continue this growth, Menlough depends on the support of its community and generous benefactors.
